“WISC works closely with the Independent Schools Council (ISC) and we are pleased with the good job being done by WISC. The educational landscape in Wales is different from that in England but of course, many of the key issues we face are the same. For these reasons it is good that WISC can represent the distinctively Welsh concerns while at the same time working alongside ISC”.

WISC does a great job supporting schools in Wales, not least with the Welsh government and by organising splendid training conferences. Welsh independent schools benefit greatly from membership of WISC.

Although we are new to WISC we have found the support informative and helpful. We have attended events which have been very useful both for knowledge and networking.

As an international, boarding school, our reach and scope is wide but we are firmly rooted in Wales and regard ourselves as champions of exceptional education in its capital city, Cardiff. The WISC annual conference is an important event and a highlight of the year, bringing heads from across Wales together for professional development, top level briefings and fellowship.

The WISC conference is always well organised, informative, and fun. It covers a wide range of topics and gives all independent schools a platform to network and develop practice alongside other educators. The recent conference alongside ESTYN gave schools practical advice to ensure opportunities for all independent schools to succeed.

Sponsoring the WISC Conference gives me the ideal opportunity and arena to form and grow great relationships with School Leaders across Wales and also with fellow sponsors.  This has led to some energising conversations and productive partnerships, as well as the more obvious opportunity to showcase our mental health and well-being toolkits and dashboards.

The WISC conferences are an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues, gain information on new developments in education and to hear the most recent updates from Estyn. The conferences are always well organised, in great settings with everyone receiving a hearty welcome from the WISC team. WISC is an invaluable resource to Orbis Education, it gives educators access to training and peer working opportunities that strengthen practice and keep senior leaders up to date with changes and legislation. During these difficult times WISC and the community it has created provides educators with a support network and offers practical solutions to problems currently facing independent schools.
